The SupportCourt Calculator
was designed for ease of use. As little as 4 fields need to be entered to
receive a support amount. The program also allows you to go into fine
detail to cover any scenario. The Sample Screen
displays a basic scenario. The sample popup windows show the detail
available for each entry. In the actual program you will be able to see
how changes in income, custody time, tax filing status, court allowed
deductions, child care and more, for either party, can modify the child
support amount. |

If you're already divorced, it's a general rule of thumb to consider
reviewing your child support amount every 3 years. You may also want
to review if there has been a significant change in either party's
income or sometimes if there is a change in marital status which
affects tax filing (change in head of household). A windfall such as
lottery winnings, etc. although averaged over a few years, may still
show as a change in income. Self employed persons may also have a
particularly good or bad year which can change their income. A
change in the percentage of custody time will also change the
support amount.
