Q. What is Guideline Support?

A. Guideline Support is the method the courts use in determining child support. It is based on rules and formulas. The SupportCourt Calculator uses those same rules and formulas.

Q. Does a program that calculates child support have to certified by the California Courts Administrative Council for use in the court room?

A. Yes. In order for the results of a computer program to be used in court, the program must be certified.

Q. Does the SupportCourt Calculator do Spousal Support, too?

A. Yes. You can select to see Child Support, Spousal Support or both.

Q. Can I print out a report?

A. Yes. There is a report view that shows all the amounts and is printable.

Q. Can anyone else see my results? Is the calculator connected to a data base?

A. No. The calculator is totally private. The information you input exists only on your computer and only as long as you stay in that screen. It is not saved or recorded. It is for you alone. The only way to make a copy of your report is for you to print it.

Q. How many times can I use the SupportCourt Calculator?

A. As many times as you wish during your 30 day rental period.

Q. What if I lose my Username or Password?

A. Click on Help in the upper left. Enter the email address you used when you signed up and the information will be sent to you.

Q. What if there isn't an Attorney listed for my area?

A. Find an Attorney in your area by advertisements or referral. Tell them about SupportCourt.com. When they sign up, we'll refund your calculator fee.

Q. How do I change my custody time?

A. Custody time can be changed through Mediation. You will have to make an appointment. Other than special circumstances, only the parents will be allowed to attend.

Q. What if we were never married?

A. Child support in paternity cases follow the same state guidelines as in divorce.

You can use our online child Support Calculator for $14.95 to calculate the guideline child support amount. You will be allowed to log on for a 30 day period. This will give you plenty of time to test possible scenarios.
