It's a general rule of thumb to consider reviewing your child support amount once a year. You may also want to review if there has been a significant change in either party's income or sometimes if there is a change in marital status which affects tax filing (change in head of household). A windfall such as lottery winnings, etc. although averaged over a few years, may still show as a change in income. Self employed persons may also have a particularly good or bad year which can change their income. Changing the percentage of custody time will also change the support amount.
